Whether you are an experienced educator or new to the field of education, this Leveraging the Power of Virtual Learning online professional development course introduces teachers to the exciting world of virtual teaching and learning. In this course, there are six modules, including:
- What is Virtual Learning?;
- Engaging Successfully in a Virtual Environment;
- Communication, Collaboration, and Community;
- Online Engagement - Students, Families, and Community Stakeholders;
- Assessing Students; and
- Digital Citizenship.
Leveraging the Power of Virtual Learning provides an instructional course where educators engage with content, discuss concepts with coursemates, and submit assignments. Teachers are enrolled in this course as “students” with limited permissions. A second practice course is provided where educators can practice their skills and experience the learning management system (LMS) as a “teacher.”
