WHRO Public Media recently partnered with Wetlands Watch and ODU Measure the Muck to equip local educators with resources to involve local students in community science by participating in Catch the King this coming October.
Catch the King is a community science event in which volunteers help collect valuable data by measuring rising seawater during the highest tides of the year.
During the online training, teachers learned how the project works, discussed classroom connections, and explored the resources available to help their students participate. Students taking part will contribute to real-world environmental research while exploring the impacts of coastal flooding in their own communities.
