WHRO Celebrates Young Storytellers

Congratulations to the winners of the 2026 PBS Kids Writers Contest! We received a lot of great stories this year!

Recently, the winners and their families enjoyed an awards celebration at WHRO Public Media. Each student and their family enjoyed refreshments and interacting with other winners during a social event before the awards ceremony. They were able to see their illustrated stories framed and posted along the halls of WHRO Public Media.

Next, it was off to the awards ceremony in the station's TV studio. After the winners received their ribbons and certificates, they gathered again with family and friends for cupcakes.

This is one of the staff's favorite events of the year.
