Hampton City Schools Earns Best Communities for Music Education Honor for 13th Year

Hampton City Schools has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation in 2026. This marks the district’s 13th year receiving this prestigious designation.

This national recognition is awarded to school divisions that demonstrate outstanding commitment to ensuring all students have access to a comprehensive, high-quality music education.

“This honor reflects the collective work of families, educators, administrators, and community partners,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader for HCS. “A high-quality music education program in every school, accessible to every student, has the power to transform not only individual learning, but also the culture of a school and strengthen our community.”

Hampton City Schools offers a comprehensive music education program spanning elementary through high school, including general music, chorus, band, and advanced ensemble opportunities. The division continues to support these programs through highly-qualified educators, strong instructional resources, and meaningful community partnerships that enhance student learning.

This recognition from the NAMM Foundation underscores Hampton City Schools’ ongoing commitment to developing the whole child and affirms the essential role of music education in preparing all students for success in school and life.

Congratulations, Hampton City Schools!
