The Online Teaching Methodology professional development course is designed to prepare educators for teaching in the K-12 online environment. The content provides participants with effective strategies and methodologies for quality online instruction. During this seven-week online course, participants will explore topics including asynchronous and synchronous learning, learning management systems, instructional tools, communication, collaboration, accountability, assessments, instructor evaluations and much more. Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) acknowledges that people have strengths in different modalities. It suggests that children's varying intelligences can not be recognized or accessed in traditional classroom settings, where the focus remains primarily on students' analytical abilities. The MI approach supports the idea that children can and will reach their full potential in their particular area(s) of intelligence. This course will help you explore how to use MI Theory in your teaching practice. As a final project for this course, you will create a lesson plan or a plan of action using the theory of Multiple Intelligences.
