Volunteer at the Great Computer Challenge

The Great Computer Challenge is a competition where students from schools across the region gather to demonstrate their skills in various computer applications and programming. They compete in different categories such as: Graphic Arts, Desktop Publishing, Internet Scavenger Hunt, Web Page Design, Desktop Presentations, Music Composition, Integrated Applications, Visual Basic Programming, Scientific/Non-Business Programming, JAVA, CAD and Video Editing.

If you are able to come and help, you will receive a t-shirt, lunch and the warm fuzzy feeling of being part of such a wonderful event.

We need people all day starting at 7:00am.

Here are your options for March 7, 2015 (grades 6-12):

Registration 7:00-9:30am
Help teacher sponsors check in, pick up t-shirts and materials for their teams.

Monitors 8:00-11:30am or 12:30pm
Oversee the competition in each of the rooms. Pass out problems to the teams and announce beginning and ending times. Judges will be around for specific questions the students might have.

Runners 9:15am-12:30pm
Check on each competition room and run to get materials or find answers to questions the teams might have.

2nd Round of Monitors 11:30-3:30pm
During the judging and awards ceremony, monitor different areas of the building. Bring a good book to read.

The place where we need the most help is monitors, but let us know what your time frame is and we'll fit you in where appropriate. If you see a category that you might be interested in monitoring, please let us know and we'll see if we can fit you in there.
