Professional Development Overview
WHRO Education Online Professional Development & Virginia’s PBS TeacherLine
WHRO Education Online Professional Development partnering with the Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) and Virginia’s PBS TeacherLine offer a unique collection of resources that provide educators with one-stop shopping for flexible, high quality online professional development. The variety of courses enable you to stay on top of the latest trends, tap the best practices and earn recertification points and graduate credit from the comfort of your own home. Over 100 courses are available in Instructional Strategies, Instructional Technology, Math, Reading/Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and STEM developed for educators in grade PreK-12. Come take a course and expand your use of technology in the classroom and strengthen your students’ academic skills!
Courses will be offered in units of 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, and 60 hours. Graduate credit is available for all Virginia’s PBS TeacherLine courses at an additional fee and most have been approved through James Madison University. Graduate Credit is also available for the Online Teaching Methodology Course (AKINST500), which is a WHRO Education Online PD Course. All courses are 6 weeks in length unless otherwise noted.
